30. Tea bowl 2014 This tea bowl and the objects around it have all been made since the early 1990s. They show how the tea ceremony and the kaiseki meal continue to inspire artists and designers. Ogawa Machiko is celebrated for her intuitive and freely experimental approach to working with clay. The roughly textured exterior of this tea bowl gives it an elemental quality while the sculpted rim imbues it with a quietly rhythmic energy.
